Where We Are

Valley Center

Valley Center is a charming rural community of about 23,000 in northern San Diego County; offering a serene setting of hills and farmland. Much of the area is devoted to agriculture, from commercial crops such as oranges, lemons and avocados to animals such as hens, dairy cows and llamas. There is a Lavender Farm next door to Rancho Magdalena, offering tours, a gift shop, and there is a fresh-grown fruit stand right down the street. Plenty of wineries are located in nearby Temecula, and other local attractions include the Bates Nut Farm and Lake Wolford; often holding community events. Former Valley Center residents include Fred Astaire and John Wayne. We imagine they found it as lovely and charming here as we do.

San Diego

Rancho Magdalena is conveniently located 45 minutes north of San Diego on the 15 Freeway and 30 miles from the ocean. San Diego offers endless activities for all ages; including the San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, beaches, shopping, museums, Spanish missions, sports arenas and so much more.

Local Attractions

Keys Creek Lavender Farm

Nestled in a beautiful, serene valley in Northern San Diego County is Keys Creek Lavender Farm, San Diego County’s only USDA certified organic lavender farm.

The farm has a dozen varieties of lavender on over 8 acres of land. They also have a gift shop, and offer classes and workshops, as well as demonstrations of how they distill their own essential oil in their on-site distillery.

Yellow Deli

Visit the closest eatery, the Yellow Deli at Lilac and Keys Creek! They have converted a late 1800’s post office building into an incredibly quaint cottage dining room. A beautiful outdoor garden surrounds the main building and features more custom seating and artwork.
